Players WantedRegistration deadline extended. After receiving numerous requests the League Committee have been discussing, at great length, the issues of allowing players to register after the deadline. Our discussions highlight two issues we need to address. The first and arguably the most important, is that we should at all times accommodate youngsters who wish to play football at whatever level at whatever time. Not to do so then there is a great risk that these youngsters could well be lost to another sport or worst still lost to any sport and end up joining the ever growing population of couch potatoes. However, we must also respect and uphold the reason why the rule was put in place in the first place and that is to best prevent teams from potentially strengthening their squads for the latter rounds of cup competitions and championship deciding matches. History has shown that in the vast majority of cases of those wishing to register players after the deadline is to keep teams in existence, that there are real risks of teams withdrawing due to lack of players. Nobody wants points expunged at a time when they may well be pushing for honours do they. To provide clarification we've formulated the following categories where players are to be permitted to register after the deadline. We hope the following provides a window of opportunity that best fulfills the above, this window closes at MID-NIGHT 31st March! After this date squad retention forms for next season are printed, collated and made ready for distribution end of April/begining of May.
Those not falling in any of the above categories WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Regards REGISTRATION SECRETARY 2nd March 2010 |
