Ending the 2019/2020 season

Communication from the Hon Secretary to member Clubs, 2nd April 2020.

All,

What a terrible end of season. What with the awful weather we have had, and now the Corona Virus that has brought an abrupt end to the season, the league has had to make decisions that no one in our life time has had to make, and I am sure will not want to make again. We have been in consultation with the County FA in how the season needs to be concluded and have found this to be the best way.

The league Management Committee has decided that all the matches played are to be treated as null and void. This applies to all league matches and all cup matches. This means that we will start a fresh next season. The league has decided also that there will be no affiliation fees [next season] to pay for all teams, that is for both new teams, and existing teams. Nobody will pay anything for entry into all age groups for all league and cup competitions next season.

In regards to fair play the league has decided that as the league has not been finished this season that the money we would have awarded to teams winning the fair play in each of the divisions and age groups would be donated to the NHS. Therefore we will be donating £3400 to NHS Front line workers in recognition of the work they do.

Whatever we do in this situation we will not be able to satisfy everyone, hopefully you will understand, and that we have done this with everyone of you in mind. In regards to affiliations we will amend the website so that you can affiliate your teams without being asked for payment. Please affiliate your teams as soon as you can so that we can start working on next season. You can affiliate by logging onto our website and clicking on the affiliation button which is at the top right hand side of the page.
